The new aaawave “The Sluice” 8GPU mining frame assembly and review.

Adding fans to The Sluice.

The 120mm fans (Not included) were really easy to add. They just mount to the D6 sliding bar with the included long Q7 screws.

Just bolt them on one at a time. It takes six fans total on the front. You can also add fans to the back side which is a really nice feature. Now I need to do a little cable management and hook them up to my Fan hub (Not included). I did a review of the fan Silverstone fan hub Here.

I like the look with the fans as well as the fact that it puts more air on the video cards which will hopefully help extend their life.

Here it is after hooking up the hub and using a few tie wraps for cable management.

Cable management was pretty easy to do. I may clean it up more later after I make sure everything is running fine after transferring the parts.

aaawave Sluice – Side shot cable management.

I also wanted to mention they  included this Q9 pack which looks to be used if you want to stack the frame on top of another one. Always a nice feature.

SUMMARY:

The SLUICE is my new favorite mining rig frame. For the ease of building and also the simplicity of it. It does everything needed and is easily adjustable. While I cant find any real faults with the other rigs, and once they are put together they are fine. Its just that I like the look of this one better. If I have to build one for someone else, this will also be my first choice due to how quickly you can build it. Why spend a couple hours building a frame if you can build one in 30 minutes that’s just as good (and I like better). I also think this might be easier to keep clean. No extra layers to collect dust (Like under the PCI risers on other frames). This is not what I initially expected, as I thought I would still end up liking the look of the thicker aluminum bars on the Dredge more. But I Guess the Sluice just won me over with the better layout and in the end the looks grew on me. I give the aaawave Sluice frame two big thumbs up.

Happy Mining everyone!

Here is my rig back up and running. Currently hashing away on a little Zcash in the new aaawave Sluice mining frame.
